ATTORNEY ANSWERS (1)

  1. Answered You are certainly able to hire an attorney. You sound like you have a tough case and will be hard to find a good attorney. Get your head looked at by a doctor so you can present evidence to a lawyer to show you have a case.
  2. If you do not think lawyers get calls like this, you are mistaken, I have heard stranger.

Stolen License Used at Traffic Stop

What do I do if my driver's license was used by someone else when he got a speeding ticket?

Asked 1 day ago - Boston, MA
Practice area: Speeding Ticket

I just found out that 6 months ago my driver's license was used by someone in Massachusetts who got a speeding ticket. I live in California and now CA DMV is about to cancel my driver's license. The address used on the traffic ticket is an old address of mine. My old driver's license with that address on it was stolen (along with my wallet, but since no charges were made, I did not file a police report) 2 years ago and I had it replaced at the DMV with an updated address then. So my driver's license at the time of the speeding ticket has a different address than what was recorded on the ticket. In addition, I have credit card activity proving that I was in CA when the MA ticket occurred. I have talked with multiple people at the DMV in CA and MA, but I just get forwarded on to people who don't return my calls. I don't want to have to pay the speeding ticket that wasn't mine, but more so, I don't want the points on my record. What can I do?

Second Driving While Suspended

What can I do

Asked 18 minutes ago - Kansas City, MO
Practice area: Speeding Ticket
I recently just got another driving while suspended ticket again I haven't got one for a year or so this would be my second offense in Missouri I can't go to jail what else can I do instead of jail?

ATTORNEY ANSWERS (1)

  1. Answered You are not alone in your situation. I get calls from lots of prospective clients who have 1-5 Driving while suspended. What I have found is this, one driving while suspended begets more driving while suspended tickets if you do not take care of the matter. Majority of people do not face any jail time. What you need to do is hire an attorney to begin unwinding the situation. First is to solve the problem as to why you are suspended. This could be points or not taking care of a ticket and having an outstanding warrant. A good traffic attorney can help you remove points from your record or get that warrant set aside. Then you get reinstated and go after the first DWS and then the second. It will cost a bit of money, but will cost you more if you do not confront the situation.

Theft of a Home Pregnancy Test

Hello, My name is Alexis. On 5/20/16 I was caught kind of shoplifting a $10 pregnancy test, I need help on this one.

Asked about 1 hour ago - Chicago, IL
Practice area: Criminal Defense
5/20/16 I was having a pregnancy scare, so me and my friend went to Walmart to get a test. We went in the back bathroom to initially put the test in my wallet & leave. However as we were walking, right before we made it to the door we were caught. They brought us in a room, we signed a paper, gave them our id's and they even took a picture of us. They said we were off with a warning AND NO COPS WERE CALLED. A week later I received a civil demand letter from Michael ira Asen telling me to pay $300. However my friend never got one. ALSO THE ITEM NEVER LEFT THE STORE, The $10 test was given back right away!! Everytime I call they hang up on me or give me attitude. My questions are
1.) is this really a scam?
2.) what will happen if I don't pay?
3.) I'm studying to be a nurse, will this be on some type of record I NEVER stole before!
4.) I can't afford a lawyer and I don't want my mom to know, on general what do I do?!

PLEASE HELP. IVE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE IM SO EMBARRASSED.
