Will contesting my speeding ticket make it worse?

Will contesting my speeding ticket make it worse?

Asked 6 days ago - Seattle, WA
Practice area: Speeding Ticket
I received a traffic ticket that says I was going 5 over when the officer said he saw me going 20 over. If I contest the ticket will the officer bring that up and fine me for 20 over?

Lawyer agrees

Answered No they will not raise the fine or the speed you were traveling. Officers write those notes in there to make the prosecutor aware of what has occurred.

About 11 or 12 years ago I was on vacation in Pennsylvania. I borrowed a car while I was on vacation from a friend. and one day I got pulled over because the license plate sticker was not on the license plate when I got pulled over I show them the registration with the stickers staple to the registration. Everything was current. they proceeded to tow the car. my friend got the car out of impound the next day I gave him my tickets he said he was going to take care of them... he did not take care of them. I have never received notices from the dmv. my license is now suspended I currently live in California I've called the Pennsylvania Department of Motor Vehicles they say I have to make an appearance in court I've asked them to send me my citations Via Mal they will not send anything to me by mail they said the only thing I can do is make an appointment to appear to court what are my options?

I live in Kansas my DL has been revoked can I get what they call a hardship license to get to and from work

ATTORNEY ANSWERS (1)

  1. Answered According to the Kansas Department of Revenue website, No, you cannot get a hardship license. Here is the direct quote from it: Can I get a hardship driver’s license?
Kansas laws do not allow the issuance of a hardship license, that would allow a person to drive during the length of their suspension, revocation, cancellation or disqualification period.

What happens if I never get a traffic ticket for an offense??

How long do they have to serve me with ticket? I assume it has to be in person like any other subpoena?

Asked 34 minutes ago - Chandler, AZ
Practice area: Speeding Ticket
I was at fault for running a red light on March 5, 2016. I was only given the officers business card at the scene. After speaking with rep. from both insurance companies and the officer via telephone, I was verbally informed and then later, by letter, that I was at fault. Approximately 2 months later I receive notification from AZ DOT that my license has been suspended for FTA on said ticket. I called the court and was told to speak with officer and then judge if unsatisfied. The officer at first tried to tell me I was cited at scene, but eventually he admitted that he had not.
I understand that I need to speak to the judge to have suspension lifted.

ATTORNEY ANSWERS (1)

  1. Answered You have until the statute of limitation runs out on your offense. They generally send you a notice in the mail like a letter. Failure of notice could be a defense here since no one contacted you or it was sent to an incorrect address. I would hire an attorney and get this all cleared up.

Answered Bicycles are not supposed to be on sidewalks, but car has duty to look for pedestrians and other objects. Seems like a case that will be fact based.
